Who We Help

Free website — this is for you

Immigrant-owned businesses are exactly who Webspansion is here for.

A lot of Nepali-owned, South Asian, and immigrant-owned businesses have been operating for years without a website. This is a core part of what Webspansion is trying to change — at no cost.

Who this is for

This is specifically for immigrant-owned businesses — especially Nepali-owned and South Asian businesses — that have built something real but don't have the online presence to match. That includes:

  • Nepali and South Asian restaurants, grocery stores, and food businesses
  • Immigrant-owned clothing, tailoring, and textile shops
  • Cultural service businesses (translation, immigration consulting, travel)
  • Cleaning, landscaping, and home service businesses
  • Beauty salons and personal care businesses
  • Any business where the owner speaks another language as their primary language
  • Businesses that have operated for years without a website because it felt too complicated or too expensive

If someone sent you this link — it's because this is for you. Apply.

Why this is a priority

Webspansion was started partly because of a specific observation: a lot of immigrant-owned small businesses in Nepali and South Asian communities have been running successfully for years, but they're nearly invisible online. Their customers find them through community word of mouth — which is powerful, but limited.

A website can help a business reach customers outside their immediate community. It can help them look established and credible when someone searches for them. It can tell the story of who they are and what makes them worth choosing.

This isn't charity. It's practical. The work these businesses do is real — the website should reflect that.

How Webspansion can help

  • A homepage in plain English that clearly explains what your business does
  • Services or menu section
  • About section — your story, your background, how long you've been operating
  • Contact information — phone, address, hours, email
  • Photos of your business, food, or work
  • Social links
  • Mobile-friendly layout (so people can find you on their phones)
  • Basic SEO so your business shows up in local searches

The process is simple. You don't need to know anything about websites. You provide the information — Ashmit builds the site.

Language and communication

If English isn't your primary language, that's okay. You can explain your business in whatever way is most comfortable. Clear communication matters more than perfect English. Ashmit can work with rough ideas and help translate them into good website copy.

What Webspansion does not guarantee

Acceptance is not guaranteed. Projects are selected based on fit and capacity.

Bilingual sites are possible but may require extra content from you. If you want content in Nepali, Hindi, or another language, you'll need to provide the translated text.

SEO and local search rankings are not guaranteed. Good fundamentals are included, but rankings depend on many factors outside any developer's control.

Post-launch updates are based on availability. Not an ongoing managed service.

What to prepare before applying

  • Business name and what you sell or offer
  • How long you've been operating
  • Your location and hours
  • Phone number and email for the site
  • Logo if you have one; photos if you have them
  • What you want people to be able to do on the site (call you, find your menu, see your prices, etc.)

Frequently asked questions

Common questions from immigrant and Nepali-owned business owners.

Do I need to speak English well to apply?+

No. You can explain your business in whatever way is most comfortable. The application form has a free-text field — just write what you can. Ashmit will ask follow-up questions if needed.

Can the website be in Nepali or another language?+

Bilingual content is possible if you can provide the translated text. A bilingual website (English + Nepali, for example) is a bigger project and depends on capacity, but it's worth asking about when you apply.

Is there really no charge?+

Really no charge. Design, code, and launch are all free. The only optional cost is a custom domain (~$10–15/year). A free Webspansion subdomain is available at no cost.

What if my business doesn't have a logo or professional photos?+

That's okay. A clean site with real, honest photos (even phone photos) and clear text can still look professional. Apply and describe what you have.

Apply — it's completely free.

No agency. No fee. Just apply and tell Ashmit about your business.
